09 Feb Our new Artist in Residence
Joining us next month is Lauryn Whitney. Lauryn is an actress and storyteller,
interested in telling stories to inspire positive social change. Lauryn will beworking with classes starting in February through April. Students will be collecting interviews with family members about their family’s background and history. She will work with the students to weave their stories into a performance celebration. She will also be working very closely with the 2nd grade teachers and arts team to bring together theater arts and social studies into their creative writing units.
Our students and teachers really appreciate the knowledge, creativity and perspective that our visiting artist bring with them. Having them here helps us enrich our curriculum, and what a treat to be able to give our children this access. Thank you PTA or supporting these artists!
