PTA Board Elections & Meeting Change
It is an exciting time for our PTA as we gather nominations to form next year’s PTA Executive Board. First, we want to thank our membership for your thoughtful input. You presented us with over 50 nominees this cycle! The nominating committee has been hard at work, gathering suggestions, making contact with nominees, and interviewing prospective board members. We want to thank all of you who have considered serving on our board whether or not you’ve decided to accept your nomination. Your consideration is much appreciated and your nominations well-earned.
There are two board positions remaining that we hope to fill. We are looking for a candidate to serve as next year’s HISTORIAN V.P. This person is responsible for archiving materials pertinent to our year in the PTA and helps at year-end with PTA’s Annual Report. We are also looking to add a PARLIAMENTARIAN to our slate to help keep our meetings running smoothly and efficiently. If either of these positions are of interest to you, please contact Melissa Disharoon at thedisharoons@mac.com for more information. If you are interested, but you are not currently a PTA member, it is not too late to join. To accommodate our newest PTA members, we have rescheduled our PTA General Membership Meeting & Board Election for Tuesday, April 13th starting at 6:00pm in the Selma Library. Our Spring calendar is chock-full of events which will make this meeting an important one for you to attend. We encourage all of our PTA members to be there as we discuss and promote our upcoming programs such as Dodgers Night (4/16th), Spirit Week (week of 4/19th), Jog-a-thon (4/23rd) and Teachers’ Appreciation Week (starting 5/3rd). And, if that’s not enough, we’ll top off the evening with our PTA Board Election! So, definitely mark your calendars for Tuesday, April 13th. You won’t want to miss this meeting.
