Brian Swanson joins the LFCSA administrative leadership team, taking on the role of Assistant Principal. He is familiar with the unique world of charter schools from his experience at Discovery Charter School and Harriet Tubman Village Charter School, both located in San Diego County. Brian has a passion for choral and instrumental music, which he has integrated into his studies and work experience.
Brian holds a bachelor of arts in Music Business, as well as master’s degrees in Music Education, and Teaching Curriculum and Instruction. He has specialized training in Crisis Prevention, Charter School Fiscal Management, and Guided Language Acquisition Development.
After having taught music to elementary-aged children for three years and core curriculum to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students for four years, Brian made the leap into educational leadership. For the past ten years, Brian has served as the Dean of Students at Discovery Charter School. He is a member of the Association of California School Administrators, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, and the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
