Michael Dmytriw, Kindergarten Faculty Member

Michael Dmytriw received his Bachelor of Arts from UC Davis in 2006, where he double-majored in Psychology and Spanish. He then graduated with a Masters of Arts in Education from UCLA Teacher’s Education Program at Center X in 2009. Mr. Dmytriw spent a year teaching music at Dolores Mission School in Boyle Heights prior to pursuing his masters degree in education and taught kindergarten at Cahuenga Elementary School prior to coming to Los feliz Charter School of the Arts. Mr. Dmytriw was drawn to LFCSA’s constructivist, project-based learning, which is consistent with his training at UCLA. He believes strongly in collaboration and finds working in grade level teams and across grade levels liberating. At LFCSA he finds that he is encouraged to use his love and talent for making music—which includes guitar playing—across the curriculum. He sees visual art and music as intersecting and brings this as a learning modality into class every day, striving to create an enriching environment. He is a southern California native and lives in the San Gabriel Valley. This is his second year of teaching at LFCSA.
